A clean, bold redesign and full URL migration for an environmental-economics nonprofit working to protect ecosystems worldwide.
Conservation Strategy Fund does analytical work in environmental economics to help protect natural ecosystems around the world. They came to Black Antelope for a redesign and migration of their Drupal site, with goals that lined up neatly with what good nonprofit design usually needs: a clean, modern, mobile-optimised look built on bold imagery that actually communicates the scale of the environmental work involved, and more prominent opportunities to donate.
The new site is considerably simpler to navigate on both desktop and mobile than the version it replaced, leaning on large-format photography to show the breadth of CSF's conservation work across different countries and ecosystems, rather than leaning on text alone to make the case.
Almost every URL on the site changed as part of the redesign - section names changed, and so did how page translations were structured - so a significant part of the project was planning and executing bulk URL rewrites to correctly forward traffic from every changed or removed page, protecting CSF's existing search visibility through the transition.
