SPCA International homepage redesign

SPCA International hadn't touched their site in over a decade, and it showed. The brief was a full redesign and content rebuild - new information architecture, a proper mobile experience, and a much easier CMS for their own team to run day to day.

Homepage first

I led the design from the homepage outward, which is how I approach most redesigns: get the homepage approved first, since it sets the visual language (type, spacing, colour, tone) for everything that follows. Here that meant leaning into SPCAI's existing bold reds and blacks, paired with large confident typography and angular accents to give the site more presence than the decade-old original.

Real footage over stock

Where possible I used SPCAI's own photography and video from the field rather than stock imagery - including editing raw client footage down into the looping video used in the homepage hero. Real material from the actual rescue work does more for a cause-driven brand than any stock library.

True mobile parity

Every desktop page got a genuine 1:1 mobile design, not an afterthought reflow - including translating a fairly complex animated infographic and interactive impact map into something that still worked as a single column.
