A dream role creating a new voice for the Tolkien online store and presence
Harper Collins required multiple eCommerce sites to be created for several of their key book selling brands - New Naturalists, Times New Roman, Harper Collins itself and Tolkien Online. For a Lord of the Rings enthusiast this was an exciting project to work on, and the initial designs aimed to incorporate the tone and atmosphere of the stories themselves.
Ultimately, to provide the audience with a clearer, lighter approach, we stripped some of the background imagery away to make the product the focal point of the page. Having said this, we remained able to instil the heart and fun of the Tolkien lore through the imagery that remained.
